Sim Internet™ Overview:
Sim Internet is a long term project for EugeniSys that will enable a worldwide audience to build a simulated society. Rather than constructing a city or theme park as in other popular simulation games, the goal in this game is to build the Internet.
Sim Internet is a business simulation game that embodies all facets of the business world of the Internet, from the creation of a global intra-structure, to on-ramps, financial institutions, web media organizations, site designers to e-commerce. There is even a stock market. In all, twenty-five different industries will give players a broad set of business choices. All industries are interdependent and will combine both competitive and synergistic elements.
You are the CEO of your own organization. You'll choose an industry, select a business strategy, build a corporate identity and then implement key business decisions to properly position your company in a competitive, simulated marketplace.
On the road to meeting your business objectives, you'll face numerous unforseen obstacles. Depending on your industry, you may experience:
- Governmental changes and upheavel
- Labor strikes and unrest
- Lawsuits
- Acts of nature
- Financial crisis
- Changes in market forces
Some risks you can mitigate, some you cant. Regardless, each will test your business acumen, requiring clear and decisive action on the part of you and your competitors.
Skilled players will learn how to manage key indicators. They will rely upon industry/market news and research. They will build partnerships and strategic
alliances. And just as in real business, successful companies must skillfully manage working capital.
A target release date for Sim Internet has not been officially established. Current plans call for a beta release to occur in the second quarter of 2007, with a final version due out by January of 2008.
